Nestled in the beautiful agricultural area of Indiana, about 44 miles northeast of Indianapolis, New Castle is the county seat of Henry County and home to many wonderful things to do and see, including New Castle Fieldhouse, the largest high school gymnasium in the world.

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame offers lots of memorabilia and history. Both adults and kids will enjoy the many educational exhibits and pictures that are professionally done and beautifully presented.

Debuting in 1959, the New Castle Fieldhouse is the largest and finest high school gymnasium in the world, with 9,325 seats.

Home to the New Castle High School Trojans, it's an eye-catching facility to any visitor who steps through its doors.

A hidden gem tucked away in Henry County, Summit Lake State Park has beautiful camping spots, two well marked hiking trails, and plenty of kayaks and canoes you can rent for a lazy day checking out the birds and animals.

You can also enjoy the water on the swimming beach, use the three boat launch ramps (idle speed only motor boats), go cross county skiing (no ski rental), enjoy fishing and ice fishing, rent canoes, paddle boats, and rowboats.

Open year round with great places to fish, hike and bike the beautiful trails, go boating (no gas engines), enjoy horseback riding, and study the wildlife and woodlands.

From May through October, enjoy the campground near the lake.

Enjoy the enclosed shelter, picnic area, and playground area for children. Go to the aquatic center and enjoy the pool, take advantage of the courts for basketball, sand volleyball, use the shuffleboard and horseshoe pits.

A great road course track for racing fans and adrenaline junkies of all ages. You can just watch the action or rent one of Indiana’s fastest rental karts and experience it for yourself.

Operated by the Art Association of Henry County, this is another hidden gem tucked away in Henry County. There is a huge pavilion, beautiful pathways that wind through the plantings, gardens, pine trees, and a koi pond. It's a beautiful place for concerts, weddings, festivals, and picnics.

Enjoy the reasonably priced art classes for kids and adults, check out the mini art shows, even purchase some beautiful art for your home or office.
